ESCO – the European Classification of Skills, Competences, Qualifications and Occupations, is organizing an online consultation to finalize an EU-wide classification of job titles. As of 2017, public administrations in the EU will be required to use those job titles in their job offerings. The ultimate goal is to improve the functioning of the European labour market across borders and language barriers and reduce skill gaps.
ESCO has asked EUATC to validate and comment on the job titles for translation and interpreting positions.
The consultation starts on 14th October and will finish on the 9th of December 2015.
ESCO would like to have a rich and transparent consultation to ensure that voices from all over Europe are heard when developing the ESCO classification. They are therefore spreading the word about the online consultation process to professionals in our sector (or in any of the other 16 economic sectors (https://ocp.escoportal.eu/#page/6) covered in the consultation).
